Tactical ORR and DEM True Attitude Mosaics - Automated Routine 1. Login to the host where VICAR is installed and configured ssh -Y host_name 2. OPS environment (setup environmental variables) 3. "cd" into a private directory cd /PATH/TO/ORR_DEM/ 4. Run OrthoMosaic.py script to generate tactical ORR and DEM Running the following command, the script will automatically generate tactical ORR and DEM products in pre-defined output directory (step 2). If the "special" directory doesn't exist, the tool will create it. Once the tactical ORR and DEM products are created in "special" directory, .LIS, .IMG, and .TXT will be symlinked to "archive" directory in the pre-defined output directory. OrthoMosaic.py --sol --end_sol --site --position --sol and --end_sol are used to define starting sol and ending sol of a position. If and are the same, then --end_sol can be skipped. For example, OrthoMosaic.py --sol 3900 --end_sol 3901 --site CK --position E1 5. Verify ORR and DEM products The script will perform self-verification to make sure the ORR and DEM products are generated. However, the script cannot check the contents of these products, so please visually check the products. The paths of the products need to check will be printed in the terminal. Additional Options Full parameters available: Parameters available in the script: --sol: starting sol. --end_sol: ending sol. If it is the same as --sol, then it can be skipped. --instrument: instrument identifier. Valid values include 'N', 'P', and 'NP', and defaults to 'N'. N for Navcam, and P for Pancam. --site: (2 alphanumeric) site location count. Check MER Camera SIS for valid values. --position: (2 alphanumeric) position-within-site count. Check MER Camera SIS for valid values. --sequence: (1 alpha character plus 4 integers) sequence identifier. Check MER Camera SIS for valid values. --filter: (1 alphanumeric) spectral filter position. Check MER Camera SIS for valid values. --who: (1 alpha character) product creator indicator. Default value is 'T' (stands for true attitude). Check MER Camera SIS for valid values. --img_lis: path to a list of skin images. --xyz_lis: path to a list of XYZ images. --out_dir: output directory. If it is undefined, then ORR and DEM products will be written to specific locations on OSS. --cs: coordinate system used to calculate the geometries of ORR and DEM. Defaults to local_level frame. Check marsortho's PDF for valid values. --z_cs: coordinate system of Z values. Defaults to local_level frame. Check marsortho's PDF for valid values. --scale: map resolution in meters per pixel. Defaults to 0.01 meters per pixel. --cut: radius from the origin in meters. Defaults to 35 meters. Other Usages 1. Generate ORR and DEM products with lists The script is capable of generating ORR and DEM products using list files. It requires a skin list and a XYZ list to run. The skin list and XYZ list need to be geometric co-registered. The script will validate --img_lis and --xyz_lis. OrthoMosaic.py --img_lis --xyz_lis 2. Generate ORR and DEM products with Pancam images With --instrument parameter, we can constrain the search terms to search input products for Pancam images. --instrument defaults to N. OrthoMosaic.py --sol --site --position --instrument For example, OrthoMosaic.py --sol 4501 --site CT --position 00 --instrument P 3. Generate cross-position ORR and DEM products If --position is not specified, then all the positions within a site will be used to generate ORR and DEM products. OrthoMosaic.py --sol --end_sol --site For example, OrthoMosaic.py --sol 4808 --end_sol 4814 --site CZ 4. Write outputs to private directory By default, the outputs will be written to locations on OSS. If --out_dir is specified, then the outputs will be written to that directory. rthoMosaic.py --sol --end_sol --site --out_dir For example, OrthoMosaic.py --sol 4601 --end_sol 4601 --site CU --position BV --out_dir /tmp
